John Davis / Head Coach /Arkansas State
Coach Davis became Countrysides 7th head coach in 2002. He and his outstanding staff have led the Cougars to 5 straight state play-off appearances and 3 District Championships. It marks the most successful period in Countryside history. Since the staffs arrival the Cougars have won 41 games and lost 15.
In 13 years as a head coach, Davis has a win/loss record of 93 and 51. Remarkably, his teams have gone to the state play-offs 11 years in a row and he has won 7 District Championships.
Prior to his arrival at Countryside, Coach Davis spent 8 years as head coach at Clearwater Central Catholic. His 52-36 overall record made him the winningest coach in CCC school history.
Coach Davis began his coaching career in 1979 as an assistant coach at Lakewood. From 1986 1990 Davis served as offensive coordinator at Osceola. In 1992 Davis went to CCC as an offensive coordinator and then became the head coach in 1994.
Coach Davis and his wife Marilyn have 3-children; Lavana 27, a University of Miami graduate where she attended on a full golf scholarship, Jay 24, who is now the Quarterback Coach at Grambling State University, and Laura 22, who will graduate from the University of West Florida in December. The Davis Family became proud grandparents in May when Brianna Lee Harvey was born.
